We were some of the last people in the world (California) to reach the new year, but yes we finally got there! This past end of the year there didn't seem to be as many low tension posts on my flist as I noticed in '07, but nonetheless I feel that it'd be good anyway to include positive things that have happened to me in my fandoms this past year, to remember that fandom wasn't too bad in '08:
- UCHI UCHI UCHI UCHI! This was Uchi's year for sure. Isshun no Kaze ni Nare, Osen, solo cons, and Countdown--so amazing! Also hints as to his future--will this solo con decide his fate in the Jimusho? We'll see for 2009!
- Ohno's first starring role in Maou. It's kind of amazing how he hasn't had a leading role, considering I found him to be quite an awesome stage actor, so I'm so glad he's gotten this opportunity in such a high profile drama. Can't wait for Uta no Oniisan!
- TOMAPI TOMAPI! Some awesome moments this year (like last year)--with their pair interviews, photoshoots, and of course the hug at the NEWS con. Too bad he couldn't be at Countdown, although Inocchi made me feel better during Toma's absence in Daite Senorita XD
- All of the solo opportunities for Eito! Mitei Ichi, 818, Yoko's second round of cons, Endless SHOCK 2008, and Fura Fura. Not to mention the dramas that made a big splash in '08, more specifically Ryo's Last Friends and Ryusei no Kizuna, Ohkura's Yasuko to Kenji, Yoko's drama SP, and Arigatou Okan.
- Those amazing unit songs for 8: Torn, Desire, and Hoshii Mono Wa <3 Subaru's mentioned more possible Yasuba collaborations in the future (?) so let's hope that happens! Ou gad and Kemuri! Awesome *__*
- Toma's first co-starring roles in Hachikuro and Maou (and getting really good reviews for both) and continuing the Toma popularity wave by starring in Grease. I'm so happy he still sticks to his stage roots and going back there now and then :D Can't wait for Voice!!!
- Yoko in LA! So close, soo clooossseee 0_o
- Maru and Yasu's SCPs. I was waiting to hear their voices and I'm glad I got to look at the Jimusho through their eyes <3
- I won't lie...the Hina/Toda rumor. It amuses me greatly XD
What were your favorite fandom moments in '08? Oh and what did you all do for New Year's? Me wants stories 8D
