In all seriousness, though, I don't think it's as much as she's afraid in that she's mad at my father for not telling her sooner. She was in and out of the hospital with me when I was a baby (I used to hiccup sparks, and she thought I would spontaneously combust). My father just sat there telling her to relax while she ran off to the Emergency Room. Until I was 8, and started figuring out how to control my "special gifts" around her, I was constantly dragged to doctors and specialists, wasting my mother's time and money. And my father knew the whole time and had a good laugh. So maybe that's why.

Or maybe it's because my father and I just Accio things right of her hands just to piss her off. It's a tough call.
