OMG! I so want to see this, it is the best prompt I have read in a long time and it has a wonderful plot! Although, I really wish that Balinor would somehow come back to life too. Cause it's not fair if Arther should have his mother back but Merlin can't have his father.

Love this idea! I would prefer to write Arthur/Gwen, though (intent is to be as close to canon as possible, i.e. still lots of bromance between our boys). What say you, OP?

Dear mousey, may I encourage you to reconsider? Capitulating to whining only encourages more whining in the future. This is neither Survivor nor a democracy; it's a benevolent oligarchy in which we prefer most mice to come to a polite decision between the affected parties without heckling from the sidelines.

Oh, sorry. I didn't notice there was this comment.

Um. Sorry, but I'm one of those scary OTP-persons. I even fast-forwards when the Arthur/Gwen scenes come in the episodes. :P (I really do love Gwen; I just don't think she and Arthur are believable together, sorry.)

I'm cool with gen, though (i.e. no pairing at all just friendship), if you want to give it a go like that.

Thank you again, it was everything I imagined. All the characters felt authentic in their reactions. I especially liked Ygraine and Gaius's interaction. And Morgause... I must confess I wouldn't have thought of her in that role! Well done, I love surprises! :D
