Modern AU. Gwen and Merlin are coworkers who vent about their lives to each other but never meet outside of work. Over the years, Merlin hears her gush about the man (Arthur) that has proposed to her, her wedding, and then moan about married life.
Meanwhile, Merlin has met this frustrating, amazing man (Arthur) and has fallen hard. He doesn’t put two and two together until after Gwen confides that she’s cheating on her husband with someone else (Lancelot).

I giggled at the bit with Arthur proposing to Gwen with violins playing. Idk if you did that on purpose, but it was a cute nod to the show and their violin theme whenever Arthur and Gwen have a romantic moment.
there’s a loud knock on the door and he opens it only to find Arthur glaring at him. “You hung up on me,” he declares, and stomps into the room without invitation. “You can’t just hang up on me while I’m trying to explain things. It doesn’t work like that.”

As for the violins playing... well, I actually just got the second season in the mail so I've only seen the first. :3
