Arthur/Merlin, throughout his life Arthur has always felt like there was something off about himself, something wrong, but he could never quite pinpoint what is was or why he felt that way. When a spell changes him into a girl, he knows he should be unhappy and freaking out but instead finds himself feeling right for the first time in his life. When Merlin finds a cure he realises he doesn't want to turn back but he knows he has no choice. Merlin finds out his true feelings and develops a spell that allows him to change Arthur's gender himself. In public Arthur stays male but when they're in private Merlin uses the spell so Arthur can be a girl again.

Things went back to whatever passed for normal in Camelot. On the surface things were just like they were before, but for Arthur everything was dull and lifeless. He trained vigorously, did all the right things to make his father proud and still it wasn't enough ( ... )

It was so sad that Arthur couldn't stay in her right body! At least she could have it sometimes. A lovely story.
