On Watching The Watchmen

I just got home from seeing the Watchmen. I just put down my wallet and keys, gave Isaac some attention and now I'm sitting here typing away. My history with Watchmen is limited. I saw the film this afternoon as well. I would give it a B- for the grade. I did not read the graphic novel, but I might like to now that I have seen the film. Several reviews mentioned the use of the music. I thought it was heavy handed, but wasn't sure if the director was trying to use it as a "joke" because it was so blatant. SPOILER... Yes, the muzak version of "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" made me laugh out loud.

Yeah, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with the music. It was so cutesy I can't imagine it being done with out a tongue in the cheek.

I hate to admit it, but that blue penis images really stays with me...

"Watchmen" is never a usually pop-corn super hero movie. It has so many embedded meanings and very dark so it surely does help read the comics first. However, the move does a great job to pack almost all the details in it.
