Coachella Lift-Off aka The Follow-Up Post

Well, I woke up today wondering and wondering about whether I would get a three day pass with the installment plan or if I'd just do a single day for Friday and maybe Saturday...

Why I want to go Friday: Because I bought a ticket and it would be silly for me not to having spent $124.

The similarities in our taste in music continues to grow. Though I never did get to see John Denver before he died, the Beatles and JD were pretty much all my dad ever listened to when I was growing up.

I can't hear Calypso without ringing the imaginary triangle like dad always did.

Go See the CURE!!

A life spent without ever having been in the presence of His High Gothness, Robert Smith, is a life squandered.

He can still hit that high, extended note in "Prayers for Rain" that makes your spine shiver.

(If only the current incarnation of the band included an actual keyboard player . . . But maybe that will be fixed by April.)

I saw them play in Boston. Robert OWNS that audience.

I think Just Like Heaven is the greatest alternative pop song ever written.

And Disintegration is an amaaaaazing record.

paul completely ruled when he played amoeba. i stood 5 feet from him when he played "blackbird" and then shook his hand. it was pretty magical, even for a jaded asshole like me.
