The cake is a lie...

Oh man, only now do I realize just how big a lie it is and why people have been going on and on about this game.  Much like The 6th Sense I applaud all of you for keeping this a secret...

So yeah, I'm now in the "mud" chamber with all the "friends" who appear and I have an idea of how it needs to be done but man o' man it just ( Read more... )

That voice is so like the first Resident Evil ... and so much more perverse ... looks like a fantastic game. Enjoy!

cubtharsis was over and helped me get to the end of level 19. I swear gaming is easier when two minds can approach stumper levels. Anyway I got to "the end" and he smiled and said, enjoy the rest.

I tried to focus on work the rest of the day, but I kept going back. It's nice when all the secrets aren't outta the bag and it's possible to enjoy these surprises.

hehe, yeah - I mean I figured after all the "the cake is a lie" talk that something interesting would happen at 19 but I had no idea where the game would go...

this is the first game I've finished on my own without helps or hints in ages and I think that added to my enjoyment. If I found a spot that was tough I'd just save, relax, sleep on it, and return only to find that I'd worked it out in my time away.

Example, a short time after I posted this I realized I'd never actually went after a robot without holding something to use as a weapon (duh, my gun) so in the "chamber" I just ported over and knocked each one over in turn and then went about port'n to the top.

I love that a room can go from being impossible to complete doable in a matter of moments.

The ending is priceless... Would love to see you work out a shirt from this one.. I already have my buddy Dave working on a variation of the Cake as Lie...

I plan on seeing if PS3 has anything extra stuff for it... and I have every intention of playing it through again with the commentary on if only to be able to relax and "enjoy" it more.

Poor, poor weighted companion cube - I mean how could you? noelbear February 25 2008, 19:29:44 UTC
I am glad you are enjoying it. Now hopefully you can understand why I was frothing at the mouth, with a mildly crazed look in my eye at the Hole last month trying to explain how great this game is.

Was at Wondercon this weekend and found a t-shirt with weighted companion cubes all over it. The shirt is covered in scrawling handwriting which reads "the cake is a lie" and at the very bottom says - "but our love is real" - it is now my favorite article of clothing.
