If the guy isn't perceptive enough to figure out that "I'm cutting my toenails tonight--I'll take a raincheck." isn't a permanent brushoff, then you have to tell him. He needs to find someone else to pester, I think.

That's if it isn't me. If it's me, you must drop everything to go out with me.
