... oh man. I can sort of see this happening, and boy oh boy, I ... would feel kinda bad about it.
If it does happen, it will definitely be a retcon (I mean dammit, it makes NO sense based on what has come before! >:( ), and I'll never forgive the Merlin writers for retconning my ship into squicky incest territory...ARGH! FML...:(
One concern though is that someone theorized that his little distracted "indeed" in the scene with Gauis while discussing Gorlois was a sign that Uther had been talking about himself with the "inherited a lot from her father", and that he is really her father, which would be a disturbing thought
I read that scene in the same way, which immediately harshed my squee. :( But I am still kind of giddy over how mushy Uther was about Morgana. Dude is in mad love with her (which would make her being his biological daughter SO EPICALLY HORRIFYING).
It never occurred to me until someone else said something, and mentioned Richard Wilson had said something about Uther and Morgana...if they do go this route though it'd have to be something they recently cam up with, Uther seemed FAR too genuine in 1x12 and 2x08 about Morgana and Gorlois for it to make sense...UGH!
Epically horrifying indeed...:( That is not what I want him to mean by "you mean more to me than you will ever know...
UGH!! I'm not reading this cos I haven't seen it yet!! It's killing me, won't be here in the US until 2011!!! Anyone know where I can catch it on the net??
...If he really is her father I shall cry. I shall cry hard..and feel very VERY wrong...oh gods. x.x ...the idea's in there now and with their darn writing and jumping about as far as 'canon' is concerned it wouldn't surprise me in the least

He's not her father; no way=I won't believe it. I hold true to my story that Gorlois had an affair w/a priestess before he left for battle, and did not know that he had impregnated her. It would make sense as why would Gaius think she would have become so powerful by now, oh and who taught her? He then married, and had Morgana

Thus Morgause's "I knew her very well." could refer to Ygraine in several ways. Maybe she was raised with the thought that she was the woman who destroyed her mother and father (in her own way.) Maybe she knew her as the reason more tragedy had befallen Morgana. Or maybe she knew her when she was young/with the priestesses. (Note: The actresses are roughly nine years apart with characters who knows how much. If Arthur and Morgana are no more then two years in difference it would stand to reason that a good 6-7 years could have existed before Ygraine and Goloris in this theoretical universe met, and her to have had some fond memory of Ygraine.) This would also give her a few more layers to hate Uther...if it were really necessary
