I finished Shoot the Damn Dog by Sally Brampton. I think it's the best depression book i've read. She describes the experience of depression so eloquently, explains the causes, and gives advice too. My only criticism would be that she wrote it from a position of privelege - she was a top magazine editor/writer so she could afford private healthcare ( Read more... )

Can you move in with Simon? I know your relationship is sorta complicated now but he's still around and sees you get better when you're not in the at home situation... maybe just live as roommates and the relationship part will slowly return? just a suggestion.

Ive read a lot about it and Ive come to the conclusion that it is impossible to really beat depression without eating properly.
It's not just vegetables and fruit, it's things like raw nuts, eating the right type of corn, etc. Of course other people around you eat more unhealthy, but a) its not good for them and b) they don't have a chemical brian imbalance.
