Happy Birthday wonderpanther!

Yesterday saw Jason and the Argonauts. It was very cute, with two adorable Scottish guys doing the show, one of whom was taking the story-telling seriously, the other one kept introducing Spider-Man and other inaccuracies into the narrative.
It's kind of hard to take the "happy ending" of the story seriously, when one knows what Read more... )

It's like the faux-triumphant ending of Braveheart, with "They fought like warrior poets; they fought like Scotsmen, and won their freedom." Uh, anyone who knows Scottish history knows that's a load of hoorah! It's like Klingonese history--"a thousand throats can be slit in one night by a running man," a lot of treachery and bloodshed. And Scotland STILL isn't free.

Have you seen "Medea: The Musical"?
I'm not sure if you'd love it or hate it. It might depend on how hot the (gay) guy playing Jason is/was.

I haven't, though I've seen a lot of Medea adaptations, including the musical Marie Christine.
