My review of American Girls. One of the photos may be slightly NSFW.

Tony was telling us last night that they had to change part of the act II opener of In The Heights because it incorporated the lyrics of a Puerto Rican children's song which is copyrighted (analogous to our "Happy Birthday" issues). The holders of the copyright waited till the ( Read more... )

I'm sad to say that I know that Mylee is spelled Miley. Like... smiley.

I hate myself.

Perhaps he can spell it both ways in the review. That way, he could have the best of both worlds.

Crazy feminist twat. That woman needs a good hard.....talkin' too.
Good grief! Anyone can find stuff wrong with anything and rant and re-mis-interpret anything. And really, feminists who are this rabid are SO EASY a TARGET!

The person who wrote the post about Firefly is why feminists have a bad name. She was obviously biased to begin with, and saw what she wanted (or expected) to see. Idiot.

Whne you said that you were reviewing American Girls, I assumed that it had something to do with those dolls that are so populate with kids, but, um, I guess not.

Um...I think this person needs to be smacked and told it's just a tv show. Get over it. Plus in the army doesn't everyone call their superior officer "sir" despite the gender?
And this is why society is not advancing....rants like this.
HAHA!

Actually, no, at least not when I was in (1989-92). Female officers were "Ma'am." Might have been different in other branches, but the only contexts where I've heard female officers called "Sir" have been sci-fi shows -- BSG and the Star Trek universe.

You know what he meant.
And while I'm not crazy about Black females constantly being in subordinate roles, there's a BIG difference between having no choice but to play the maid all of the time, and being lower in military rank than her White counterpart.

I read that about two weeks ago, and was SO irritated.
The whole rant, making assumptions about Joss' "abusive" relationship with his wife outraged me.
The statement that there is no such thing as a healthy heterosexual relationship between a White guy and a Black woman.

Shockingly, I took umbrage with that one.
But, given that she instantly agreed with someone who quipped about never seeing a healthy, hetero relationship told me everything.
There's no arguing with this chick.
If there is a man involved, he's exerting abusive power over the women. Instantly.
Other than the stuff about Inara's profession, I was stunned.
I couldn't read it without my jaw dropping.

I was most interested in your opinion of the post. I'm a little surprised that we agree on as many things as we do.

Particularly on the bit about her admitting to never having a healthy relationship with a man. That, in a nutshell, underscored everything she wrote and told me, more or less, that she was bugnuts crazy and not to be taken seriously.

Except, maybe, if she starts packing heavy firepower.
