oh god WHY?

I am trying not to hate the entire world today, but things like this charming piece of fanart (warning for homophobic violence) are not making it easy.

Apparently the artist and their friends think it's the cutest thing ever, too.

How depressing.

I got hold of a copy of 'The Cage' today. It's existence despite the odds makes me feel heartened.

Yay! I'm waiting eagerly for the library to hopefully get hold of one for me, and for my copy of the Dan Billany biography to arrive. The story behind The Cage really is almost miraculous--Billany and Dowie leaving the manuscript behind, and the person they left it with actually keeping it and sending it on.

And that Billany's parents wanted to publish and the publisher wanted to print it. I mean, one could see them going 'Um, that's not the image we want of the POW heroes, actually'. Kudos to them all.

The original publishers' blurb does apparently say something to the effect of "two POWs struggling against the spiritual effects of their unnatural incarceration" as opposed to "two POWs falling in love," but nevertheless, they published it.

Oh I hate these people! I sent the disgusting homophobic a comment but I bet he will delete it. It shows how desperate some people are because their childhood idol is said to be gay.
Bah --´I get so angry at that things.
