1) I'm good with last night's ep. Not the best it's ever been, but definitely far from the worst. C. Humphries? Whip 'em back into season 1-2 shape, plz? kthnxbai

2) You guys, there are SO MANY COMMENTS for Pit and Peak. WTF? I'm overwhelmed by your kindness - and, yeah, it's KINDNESS because ( Read more... )

Do you think one could do this same thing with limes to make lime salt? I have a total obsession with the lime salt from Chipotle and would love to have some around the house.

Oh, definitely. I'm also thinking the tangerine (or any citrus) would be awesome with raw sugar done the same way. Let me know how it goes! I have a great little salad I make with black beans, roasted corn, peppers, onion, and avocado I do a lime-chili dressing dressing with, and that would be GREAT.

But..but I liked that story, alot! Aside from the fact that I loved the concept the ending made it so heartbreaking and real and it made me ache!

No, no...like I said - it's me. It's me a LOT lately. I'm just...ugh. I'm not very good at taking praise, but I'm always glad when a story is well-received. I don't mean to marginalize anyone's liking the fic.

*flaps hands*

I'm very glad you liked it, despite the ache. :)

Thank you.

Hee! When I see pics or trailers from Coraline (saw the trailer in 3-D when I went to see My Bloody Valentine), I always think "there's buffyaddict13 as a child!"

I think you'll definitely like it, my dear. RIght up your alley. :) Did you read the original Gaiman story? Because, maaaaan, the mom in Coraline? GRADE-A BEEYOTCH.

I just wondered if that was so in his writing, or the script for the film.

That very first pic of the dried tangerine looks like stained glass in church.

Id rather have your empty hands than empty fists to my face any day. Especially this day, actually. My goal today is to not get punched. We shall see.

HI!

That was totally my thought: That tangerine wheel in the sunlight looks like freaking Chartres or Notre Dame, y/y?

So...did you get punched at all yesterday?

Manalive that sounds delicious. I am so gonna hafta try that!

At Christmas, my mother and I made candied orange peel. Have you ever done that? It was SO GOOD, especially when dipped in chocolate. It made me want to try candied everything. Also very very pretty (pre-chocolate).

Also, also? I really and truly admire your original tangerine slices. I suck at slicing things thinly and evenly.

1) I was just so enamored when I saw the original blog about drying tnagerines and making salt. Like, I couldn't even imagine wtf to do with it? But I had to have it. Having a bag of dried tangerine wheels that look like French cathedral stained glass windows just feels so DECADENT.

2) I have never made these, but have wanted to. Also with Meyer lemons, y/y? Though, I am not a fan of intentional citrus and chocolate mixing. :(

3) I used a big old serated bread knife and went slow and it turned out pretty damn good. The hardest part was holding the tangerine at a 90 degree angle so my slices would be even.

4) *smish*
