You could also make pouches with embroidered motifs and simple haversacks (with or without a flap).

Our incoming princess is asking for monogrammed handkerchiefs to give to people as a token (well specifically to hand out instead of tissue when someone cries for joy).\

sorch715 has a good idea too. Up here they are usually wool and viking-y. I am thinking about making up some of those German purses with the little baglets on the outside and filling them up with chocolate coins.

I also love the idea of a pin cushion that is fitted with cords to hang from a belt with a little matching needlecase. I think they are very elegant. I also like the idea of having it on a leash so I don't keep having to put it in a basket...

I made several sets of purses for West/An Tir largess last year -- velvet & silver-trimmed 4-sided drawstring pouches based my fave. 1610s one in the Netherlands Purse Museum (website's not working right now or I'd show the pic!).

But there's lots of nifty styles of purses & decoration, & everyone can use an extra pouch. For embroidered ones, how about sweetbags?

I *big puffy heart* the blackworked needlecase & pincushion I got at an fundraiser auction, so I'd totally recommend those for largess too.
