Slogging through the marshland

They've been planting the winter grass here in AZ over the last several weeks, and my apartment complex has been a bit overzealous in watering the lawns, especially considering water in the desert is the price of whiskey. Pippin doesn't like sprinklers either, but man, I wish we could get some of your sogginess out here.

It doesn't rain much out there? Or is that a drawback of having a year-r0und temperate climate?

I just got this from the 'net:

"Since Jan. 1, 2011, the amount of statewide rainfall has been dismal. In the 3.5 years since a drought was declared, most regions in San Diego County have fallen more than a foot of rain below average."

We REALLY need rain.
