Brunch w/Lisa at Fatapples. I didn't eat eggs, and didn't get sick. I instead had an excellent cheeseburger in an effort to get more iron. And I drank orange juice with it, since vitamin C apparently helps with the absorption of iron

Yeah, I'm aware of the evilness of Target. The political issues involved are very important to me, as you know, but I feel like I'm in a tight spot. Shannon and I are on a very tight budget, and the prices at Target are considerably lower. It makes a very significant difference in our lifestyle. And yet I feel like it's at the expense of other people's lifestyles. So I'm very torn about it.

I sympathize, but somehow you were making ends meet even at the higher prices charged by other markets, right? Still, I have the luxury of not really having to worry, at least for the time being, about grocery prices, so I'm hardly one to lecture you until I've walked in your shoes.

Besides, it's not as though Target offers low prices by passing on to consumers the savings they get by oppressing gays. The last I checked, oppressing gays was not profitable, and compared to Wal-Mart, Target treats its employees decently and gives a percentage of profits to charities, some of which we probably both support.

I'm going to do my best to avoid shopping at Target, but I rarely shopped there anyway, so it won't be much of a stretch. Hopefully they'll see the error of their ways.
