I had a very nice day today. Hung out with Lisa, had an excellent brunch (including an omelette containing a cheese I'd never heard of before: fiscalini, which is kinda like parmesan, but which Lisa and I insisted should be a petite financial plan, based on the actual morphemes in the word), watched a Studio Ghibli film called I Can Hear the Ocean

I just watched a very cute Miyzaki film with ladycat777 the other day called Ponyo. I think it was a new one.

Did you know the little girl who played (I forget her name) the new companion as a little girl and the girl who plays the adult companion are actually related? They are like 2nd cousins or something. But they had never actually met until they filmed the show.

Ooh! I haven't seen Ponyo yet, but it's on our Netflix list. There are still a few really old Miyazaki films that I haven't seen (Porco Rosso, for example), but I've seen most of them, and most of his recent ones (last 10 years or so) I've seen in the theaters. I'm a big fan of his work, primarily for the themes, rather than the animation itself.

The new companion = Amelia Pond (Amy). I didn't know the two actresses were related! They *do* look alike, now that I think about it!
