This is how we do it 'round here.

+ I have a confession: today I listened to country music. A whole CD's worth, save for the few I skipped because they featured twangy guitar. I have never done that before. Seeing Phil Stacey at the McCain rally inspired me to listen to some of his stuff, and you can listen to his entire debut CD on his website. So, I did. And it's quite good. Like ( Read more... )

Country music? Oh, Bethany! What has happened to you? *wink* I actually just listened to that song you linked...his voice isn't too twangy, so I give you leave to like him. :D

What's the secret to hair stick styles? I've always wondered about that...

I don't find his voice twangy at all, actually - occasional guitar twang is the only way that he really sounds country. His voice sounds almost identical to Chris Rice's to me. But yeah, I love "'Round Here". Such a fun song!

I used to put the first one in so it was like sticking straight into my head through the bun, and then I would twist it to point down, weaving it in and out of the hair till it came out the other side of the bun. Turns out if you put it through the whole bun, starting from the bottom (and slightly to the side is how I do it), and then twist it so it then goes back down through it, it holds really tight. And so, reading through that, I realized it makes no sense at all. Watch this, and hopefully it will help you. =o)

Normandie's specialty is hard cider because of all the apples they grow! I might be trying some tonight!

Ooh! I want to go! Hehe. Actually, I'm surprised you're going to drink; aren't you one of the ones who has made the choice to not try any alcohol? Or are you embracing the "when in France" mentality? ;o)

Yeah, I have the "when in France" mentality! It's part of the culture here, but it's just not part of my family's culture in the USA so I don't drink it there. I could phrase that in a way that would make sense, but that might take awhile ;). It's so ingrained into the culture here that I feel like if I'm going to immerse myself in it I've got to at least sample the local specialties! :D

Plus, it's cheaper than pop! You can get beer at McDonald's! McDonald's is insanely expensive here, though. Well, insanely expensive for McDonald's products. No super value menu, either.

I like country music *cough cough* But I'm REALLY picky about it.

Well, you live in the south - you're supposed to! I grew up in the Midwest, which, although it is where my older brother got into country music, is still considered yankee territory. There have been a few country songs I've liked through the years, but most of them drive me up the wall.

haha. Yeah, I guess it was my sad fate. I used to hate it SO bad. My older sisters loved it. Made me feel sick ;) Of course, NOW the country music I DO like drives them nuts. I've also noticed that most of my favs are from the Carolina's. lol. What do you think about Josh Turner?

What sort of country songs drive country fans up the wall? Those that do not torture me with twangy guitars? Hehe. Josh Turner is a former AI contestant too, right? He's in the Marines or Army, right? I don't think I've heard any of his stuff. I only really know who Phil Stacey is because he lived in Jacksonville for a long while (including when he was on AI). Plus, he's a Christian, and that makes me like him more. Hehe.

Come on over to the dark side. :) I saw Phil Stacey at CMA Fest this year. He was pretty good. It's not his fault he kind of looks like a vampire. LOL!

I LOVE BON JOVI.

Sorry about the sink!

I totally agree! Since the first time I saw him on AI I thought, "He reminds me of someone. Who is it?" I totally see vampire now that you say it! Maybe that's what I've thought the whole time and I just couldn't place it. LOL. Poor guy. He seems like a really nice guy. I watched a little thing on YouTube where he was hanging out with Bebo Norman and they said they live like a block from each other in Nashville. Dude. I want to be Bebo's neighbor! I wonder how far they live from Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman?

Me too. He sings from the hair, not from the heart. Hehe. My favorite song to sing on Rock Band is "Dead or Alive". =oD

Gah. Stupid sink. I'm going to see if my dad can help us fix it. Otherwise we may have a fun night ahead of us. =oÞ

Debra was the one who pointed out his vampirishness to me. I never saw it before that either. LOL!!

I've yet to see a celebrity in Nashville, but Debra sees them sometimes. They all live in either Brentwood or Franklin. Once she saw Chris Sligh from AI at the Cheesecake Factory.

She's right!

I suppose since she lives there she has more opportunity to see them. I think Franklin is where Bebo and Phil live. I think I would, like, camp out at all the restaurants and see who I could see. I like Chris Sligh. He'd be an easy one to spot, I think! Have you heard his debut single? It's beautiful.

Hehehe. Glad I redeemed myself in your eyes. ;o)

I tried to explain it to someone above, and it turned out totally impossible to understand. Watch this and it should help you. I didn't know to put it back in the way I came from to make it really tight.

Or get some for you! You can actually use regular chop sticks, too, so you could always try them before you buy them, next time you go to a Chinese restaurant. ;o)
