What's PWP, whether in character or out of character? I feel like I should know, and yet...

Also, what you need is a deadline. That'll keep you on schedule.

PWP is Porn Without Point - when 2 (or more) characters stop what they're doing to advance the plot and have sex even if they don't like each other, have untended injuries, or have other more important things to do. I am the queen of PWP and use it whenever I need to get word count up.

LOL! OK, now I know why I don't know what it means; my WIP's heroine is a Regency-era virgin. (Though I did write a little sexual interlude between her and her best girlfriend once. But otherwise...)
