Work picked up and, well... it's going to stay busy for a while, probably the next 2 weeks. Not only the main tourist event of the year, but also a major international conference are happening right now. Them's the breaks.

I finished the Chapter 4 edit! I'm so happy! It came out so well! ;_______; I cut some things out to simplify the theme, the whole thing is only 2 pages after all and there are only so many overt themes and info-dropping I can work in there. Once I cut them, everything just fell into place... god I love it when that happens. XD ( Read more... ) -

Tonight I hacked my way though half an edit of Chapter 4.

Oh, my god, it is so bad. I read it through and had to tell myself not to cry.
This edit is not small. It's breaking up the flow, rearranging dialogue, changing the entire emotional tenor of the scene, etc. Not to mention I have to hack through this jungle before I can even touch Chapter ( Read more... ) -

Update!
I sat down tonight and wrote the entirety of Chapter 5. In an hour. 2 pages, good flow, needs a brief edit, fits perfectly with Chapters 1, 2 and 3...
...and not with 4. At all.
In fact, I really don't like 4. I think it needs a massive overhaul. (ARRRGH transition chapters!! X( )

Update!
I finished Chapter 4 and posted today! Felt like pulling teeth, though. Out of my skull.
Part of me is convinced I am going to wake up tomorrow, look at FFN and go "OH LORD WHAT HAVE I DONE."
And if I do... I will... fix it then.
