You know, I love the way this is written, but stories like this are really making me hate Elizabeth more and more.

Will, as loyal and steadfast as he is, as much as he loves her enough to let her be her and be patiently waiting, is still her second choice when she realizes Jack will never love her.

And that hurts. That hurts BAD.

So well written, so painful.

Well, I think it's actually really hard to predict how the setup is going to go--they've left us in a fine tangle. I'm somewhat predisposed to angst, hence my attraction to the Will-angst viewpoint. I don't think that's necessarily the only valid one, though. :) Hopefully everyone will get redeemed in the end. :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment--sorry for bringing you pain. ;)

Hell, I'm in favor of all three of them rolling around in the same bed.

I'm kinky that way.

Ah, this is a conversation I've had several times in the past few days (I didn't see DMC till last weekend).

The general consensus has been "I'd pay to see that."

I love the icon.

Ouch. That was a really good bit of angst. I'm not sure I came out of it liking any of the characters at all, but I could understand how something like this could happen with them.

Oh, this is lovely. You have Elizabeth, in particular, utterly right: and her plaintive realisation is spot-on. Poor Will! I kept wanting to tell him to fight for her but you're right, it's not what she wants.

Delicious!

Oh god. I'm sure wether I want to cheer or cry. That was beautifully, beautifully done. So bitter, yet loving it made the heart ache with the contrast and how true it is. I think the part that really got me was Will starting to tell the story, and be a bit of his fantastic self, until Elizabeth came. You get the sense he often does amazing things, but only when she can't see. I would say that Elizabeth was far more a fool than he was. If he had stayed for her, than I'd say that was foolish, but he didn't. He protected her as always but his reasons for staying were his own, hearth and home deal. That was great and so in character I thought, Will is just sort of that srong enduring type. God what a painfull situation. And sly Jack, knowing what was going on the whole time. I loved it. Now let me just find my heart and put it back in my chest. :)

this was lovely; bittersweet and angry and painful and still Will/Elizabeth... and I do think Will is the right man for her, not Jack no matter how sexy and interesting Jack is. Will is the rock that will let Elizabeth be Elizabeth and stand by and protect her if necessary, but not smother her.

Thank you for this.
