Title: The Tale of Saint William the Martyr
Fandom: POTC2: DMC
Characters: Will, Elizabeth, Jack (W/E angst, J/E periphery), et al
Rating: R+ in spots.
Warn: Movie spoilers
"St. William the Martyr," they whispered of him. "Stayin' aboard and pinin' after his true love wot been stole by the Captain."
Broke my heart!
So many Will/Elizabeth stories have them forgiving each other and figuring out their feelings as early as the night at Tia Dalma's. I like it much better your way. Issues as complicated and emotional as the ones they're going through take time to resolve.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Glad you liked it.

And I am really, really curious how they're going to resolve it for the final movie. I don't actually have an 'OTP' for this, I think the whole triangle is quite interesting and messy, and I have no idea how they're going to resolve it in a way that is 'summer-blockbuster' satisfying. Looking forward to finding out, though. :)
That was gorgeous and absolutely perfect. Everything - the characterization, the dialogue, the story itself - was amazingly done.
Stunning work

Also, I'm friending you.
I'm almost positive I know your name from GG fandom, but a quick look at your journal revealed both 'Rusty Yates = Biggest Asshole in World' and 'JimPam', so I'd be friending you back regardless. :)
I loved this. Loved. Sympathy for the characters without either vilifying or glorifying them is tricky with this particular dynamic, and you've managed it very well! (That was the most long-winded way of saying "no character bashing, yay!" ever. I apologize.) I loved your Gibbs as well. Snif. That part made me very sad.

I honestly don't think it's necessary for people to take sides in this one. I definitely didn't, and I'm retroactively wishing I would have put in a little more time on the Jack side of things.
