You have their voices down particularly well - especially Jack's. I want to say this was lovely, but it was really bittersweet. Well done.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.

I was intimidated by having to write dialogue for Jack, but it came more easily than I expected, possibly because I've been watching the movies repeatedly. :)

Oh, that was excellent. I thought the voices were wonderful, and it was touching and plausible.

(Your icon, however, is weirding me out, because I landed in the hospital with a nasty kind of inner-ear vertigo out of nowhere two weekends ago. *grin* Possibly more info than you want, just an odd coincidence.)

LOVED it. I can see Will being this way...just living, content with what he has, and taking care of Elizabeth whether she wants him or not. He's a strong character, which is why I can forgive his slight stiffness...and I think time on the sea would help cure that...as you've shown.

True, somehow it was usually Elizabeth herself who'd picked the fight, and then Will doing the brunt of the defending--with Jack cheering them on from the side. And later, Will'd be the one holding Elizabeth's long, sun-bleached hair out of the way when she'd had too much rum or whisky for her weight.

Awesome. Great Jack characterization, great Will...I love that he takes care of her, but doesn't honestly seem to expect anything from her.

Thanks for the feedback, as always. :)

Well, I know he's not the most popular character, and it's not the most popular pairing, but I think the main thing they've consistently shown about Will is that he doesn't back down from much (not even when backing down would be the pragmatic thing to do). At the same time, he's never tried to control Elizabeth. So it was easy for me to see him letting Elizabeth go, if that was what she wanted, but not backing down *inside*. Erm. If that makes any sense. And despite the interesting J/E dynamics, it's hard for me to see them as happily-ever-after. And Will's got that stoicism that would allow him deal with being her secondary, backup choice.

Ramble, ramble.

Glad you liked it. ;)
