I'm done! Don Imus was let go from his simulcast on MSNBC yesterday from what they say was part of an ongoing review. What this was a personal crusade by Al Shaprton to get this man off the air. He was let go because of pressure from Sharpton and from advertisers threatening to pull out, not because they feel anything on the subject but because ( Read more... )

Oh, just to make it clear--yes Imus has absolutely any right in the world to say what he wants, but if the privately owned companies have a stand on it then said companies have every right to push him out. He can make whatever statement he wants and I'm all for that. But in dealing with private companies there can be consequences.

That's like me going on FOX and talking down about bush. though, that might end me in Gitmo as a terrorist. I can say it all I want but I have to handle the consequence of Fox not airing me after that.

And that's absolutely true...but even Sharpton himself said this morning that if he hasn't of made a big deal about it, then nothing would have been done about it. Seriously the only reason why MSNBC dropped him is because Sharpton got in their pocketbook and hurt their ability to have good advertisers.
