Aiming a cannon at canon

Oct 03, 2007 09:01

Last night's episode of House left me cold.  Had "The Right Stuff" been my introduction to the series, House would not currently occupy highest priority on the DVR; nor would Tuesdays be the highlight of my week.  It would be like Law and Order--fine if I happen to catch it.  Also fine if I don't.

Three scenes that I enjoyed:  Wilson convincing ( Read more... )

s4, canon, house

i'm certain you're correct about the [usual] overhyping of next week's episode. still can't get around that one canon-blowing line from wilson, though.

well, if house's previous near-death experience wasn't "large" enough for wilson, then perhaps wilson's suppressing an unconscious death wish for his bestest bud? still not buying it......

Given the general decline of medical plausibility on the show, I actually have a theory - POTW has pain or pain syndrome before shock, big jolt "reboots" all circuits, not just cardiac, and House is trying to reboot himself pain free (not at all saying I think this would or could work). That is really the only thing I can think of, sort of another permutation of ketamine or the cancer trial. There is no way it is at all in character any other way.

House is trying to reboot himself pain free

now that is a plausible theory. as a matter of fact, i recall reading a blurb a couple of years ago in Scientific American about a chronic pain patient who fell victim to a lightning strike--and that's precisely what happened--no more pain. dare we hope that the writers read the same blurb, and that's where they're going with this? [which still, however, doesn't explain wilson's amnesia about house's previous near-death experience. sigh....]

Can I be your friend? I don't do much on live journal, so I don't really understand how it works.

done! all it does is allow you to see the entries i've got marked as 'friends only.' the entries are fairly boring, usually, but you're welcome to read them, comment on them, and/or ignore them entirely!! :)
