It's real! It's finally happening. My L.J. Smith fandom is reaching a crest after about 10yrs of waiting! The Vampire Diaries will be a fall drama on the CW. I suppose they're riding on the Twilight Saga wave, but still...it's a step in the right direction

My gripes lay mostly with Nina Dobrev, aka Elena aka Bella. Like even the way the actress (I mean in her interviews) acts (i.e. that holier-than-thou attitude) reminds me of Bella.

And IMHO, it's better to think of TVD as a quartet. Because the newest book (#5) ain't so hot. Reads more like fan fiction, from start to end. Really, really bad fan fiction. You've been forewarned..

Yea, the TV Elena kinda rubs me the wrong way in the sense she's not like the book character at all. And I might mute her diary monologues. I'll be watching it for Damon.

That sucks. Did her writing style change? Is she writing for the Twilight audience?

Yeah, her writing style turned a complete 180. The new book's worse than Twilight. Worse than Twilight fan fiction. Worse than -- you get the point.
