Actually, you could leave out the pineapple and just add a little juice at the end. Enough sugars will evolve from the other ingredients.

we usually dont do pineapple, but it was on sale and is delicious, so yeah =)

i just got to use the word hawaiianified! I was talking about the southern restaurant chain, chik-fil-a. For years I've called it my preferred name for it, chik-a-fil-a'a, which i can now say is the hawaiianified name. Because if there's one thing that chik-a-fil-a'a reminds me of, it's hawai'i

i made it with ancho chile and garam masala instead of Urfa Biber and no pineapple. It was a very different dish, but turned out spectacularly well! Thank you for the inspiration!
