I watch things?

*glances around* This is turning into a bit of a meme thingy... Ahem. I've been thinking about how certain shows instantly create fandoms and some shows don't. Is it the slash factor? *g* Also, I've been musing a lot about how I watch a lot of things, but am very rarely moved enough to write for them. What has it got to be, I wonder, to make me ( Read more... )

fascinating, not writing, personal log, talk to me

Out of these shows I tried watching the Secret Circle, as one does for Gale Harold, but couldn't after 3 episodes. I think I'm allergic to too perfect-looking high schoolers. I mostly blame the hair ;-D

Were you asking about new shows, or recs in general?

LOL. Did you watch Hellcats for him? :D

Just in general, I suppose. I don't really have time to watch a lot of things, despite appearances, but I'm curious about what people follow.

God help me, I tried. I managed someting like 5-6, didn't even get to the kissing part. I don't do US hig-school/pop corn TV well :(

I'll go with lesser known shows in case you have not heard of them.
Current:
Lost Girl - guilty pleasure, silly supernatural show but one for adults, where the main character is a succubi. Ahem.

Community - my favourite comedy show right now.

Homeland - for your paranoid conspiracy/spy themes needs

Old:
Better Off Ted - brilliant, intelligent sit com that made me love Portia De Rossi (see icon). I wish everyone would watch it, it's so amazing.

Terriers - it only had one season, but that was one of the best, clever shows I've seen, and the leads are so slashable it's insane. Never have I seen a duo so married. They're not conventionally hot, so no fandom.

Anything else you probably know/have checked out already :)

LOL. Oh, I'm mostly fine with high school shit, but that main character (Marty? I think?) was such an obvious Mary Sue that I couldn't take it for long. :D

Thansk for the recs! Some of these I haven't encountered before, so I could check them out some time. Thanks. ;)

I don't really watch TV, but I've always liked NCIS. (Actually had a conversation about it with one of my students today XD) That's disappointing that Once Upon a Time isn't better, because it sounded really interesting.

I watch NCIS occasionally, too! :D

Yeah, it's a bit confusing. People seem to like it though. O.o

Yeah, Erik/Charles are pretty doomed however you look at them, aren't they? ST TOS had really done a number on me where tragedies are concerned. I want happier endings! (Which an ironic thing to say, considering I am now a Merlin fan... )

I know! I watched Eagle, I liked it, it's incredibly slashy, sure. Yet I have absolutely zero wish to write for it or even read. *shrugs* Beats me why.

'Fades', 6 eps., accents!, weird dark British humour, scary, and most important, too short to make it possible for the writers to dissapoint or maltreat the script.

I also agree that BSG is getting boring at the end (but you must remember that they had misfortune of filming 3rd season when there was scriptwriters' strike in Hollywood, hence drop of quality), but at the same time I, my bro and dad watched whole 4 seasons during Xmas break.

Waiting for 3rd season of Misfits (perfection) to be whole, so I can catch up on it in one go.

Still have a pile of recent films to catch up with...

Hm. I downloaded the first ep of BSG and it starts with 'previously on BSG'... O.o Am I missing something?

Probably the pilot, 2hrs long TV film. But you can deal without it, it's like a bit of extra "before".
