Shoot this chapter is just so awesome! The chapter had me super excited and couldn't stop reading it :D. Kirk was brilliant knowing all of the laws and shooting down everything Shaw threw at him. Haha i felt bad for Sulu and Uhura but they did good too. And man Admiral Archer had me laughing with his comments ah good man....makes me wish I had watched Enterprise. Glad Spock was finally coming out of his sad behavior and super happy all charges were dropped :D.

:D I'm so thrilled you enjoyed it so! :D Yep, poor Sulu and Uhura, frying pan and all that. LOL. I'm glad Archer made you laugh, he's way too cool not to. ;) And Spock's definitely awake now, even though it was like someone splashed him with cold water. :D

*cackles insanely* Hell, yes! GO KIRK! *shake pom-poms*

...Dude. Kirk may possible be a awesome lawyer. XD

“Basically, it’s a soul,” Archer says, with a shrug. “Only their souls are as wise-ass as Vulcans are.”

*giggle* I love Archer so damn much.

*facepalm and then a eyeroll* No, Spock, Kirk is really doing this in defense of you. But, go ahead keep denying this, although do know this... you can't denial this forever. I think.

*give McCoy a thumb up* He is so grumpy marvelous.

“You thought that just because Ambassador Sarek has left for New Vulcan and Admiral Pike is in a coma that no one would call you on your bullshit?”

They probably did! Oh... thankfully they were wrong. So very wrong. *cackles again*

(Also: ...It may not mean much to this 'Starfleet', but I think in the movie Narada crew was actually in a Klingon Prison for a few years.

But... that may not explain the years when Narada's crew WASN'T in prison. So.... yeah.)

add to my last part in my comment:

Also, looking at the movie, I don't think they did much to make stuff to stop crazy!Romulans(or whatever else.), no.... more weapons the ships don't really count. At all.

as for what else they did, I don't know.

Well, looking at the movie, it doesn't seem like they did much of anything. Which is not cool. Vulcan was not *just another planet*. And Star Trek is not Star Wars.

Indeed. They did too little too late. *twitch*

First of, your icon should rule the world. :D

As for Archer, I'm gonna do a not so nice thing and direct you to Memory Alpha. Jonathan Archer. I just don't think I can explain better than them.

The thing is, it's not the purpose of this story o explain the history of Trekieverse. I've pulled a JJ here. When he included 'Admiral Archer's beagle' into the script he knew that those who watched ENT will catch the reference, and those who didn't would take it at face value. I think knowing that Archer is a very old admiral and the captain of the first Enterprise here in this chapter is enough, otherwise it would have been a very different story. I think. ;)

Right, so this is amazing. I am astounded at the way you wrote this court scene, it felt very realistic and kept my interest. And I loved Kirk in this - so in control, pretty much the Captain he's going to be - smart and furious and determined to help his people. I'm so glad he was there for Spock, even if he won't believe it was anything more than him just helping a cause. And I couldn't help but feel bad when Kirk found out he'd said those things to a depressed and suicidal Spock D:

Basically, another fabulous chapter! I eagerly await more! (Oh, and I must mention my love of grumpy-even-in-court McCoy!)

Aw, thanks for catching Jim's epiphany there. Yeah, it's not gonna help Jim any, knowing just how close he'd pushed Spock toward the final line.

Thank you so much, I'm thrilled the chapter worked for you!
