Gawd! I wish I had the patience and the creativity to write a courtroom scene like that! I had goosebumps, for serious. I can't wait for the next installment.

I'm really quite taken with the journey you're giving Spock here. Fics written from his pov can be hard to engage with, but you give us just enough insight for us to empathise but not so much emotion that we stop believing he's Vulcan.

We won't have long to wait, right?

Wow, thank you so much. Writing court could be a bitch any time, so I'm hugely relieved it isn't boring. Whew! :)

Thank you for your kind words. I love Spock, that's all I can say. Writing humans' POVs is easier. Writing him is a sweet torture, because you're right, it's tough not to slip into one or the other. Thanks! <3

Right. ;)

*bounces* Yes!! That was so great! Well done - loved seeing the crew called up to defend Spock.

LOL! Thans so much! :D I'm keeping my secrets about how Jim came off so awesome here, for a while I'm afraid. But these questiones will be answered before the story's over, that's for sure. ;)

I'm squeeing it made you squee! :D

Kirk was extremely awesome here. Yay! It's easy to cast him as the ditzy frat boy, but his forte canon-wise has always been tactics- and memorizing regulations in order to outmaneuver his opponent (more tactics). We'll see what the ramifications are for Kirk, as he's clearly not endeared himself to the "three ring circus" cast of characters (and Archer was unbelievably awesome himself- loved his supporting role here). I hope Spock takes the lifeline that Kirk is throwing to him. The analogy of the warm draft after standing in the cold is lovely, and very apt. I'm of course terribly curious to see what is fueling Kirk's fire- he is always passionate about championing people who can't fend for themselves, but is there already something more behind it? :) I look forward to seeing what further observation by Spock reveals ( ... )

See, this was kind of a circular logic on my part. Jim came off as a total jerk the first time I watched the movie, and only my knowledge of canon made me stick with not actively hating him. But then, I ship Kirk/Spock really hard, and since I can't picture Spock as an idiot who'd drool all over Jim as he is, I had to make myself believe that Jim really is more than what we've seen. I chose to trust Pike and Bones here and to develop this.

Oh, there's definitely more behind Kirk's fire than simple 'don't mess with my people' thing. LOL. But at this point, he doesn't know it, like by far. ;)

McCoy's definitely smart, not just sexy, I couldn't help showcasing it a little. ;)

Thanks for awesome feedback! <3
