So the guy played a doctor, a lawyer, a rentboy, a geek, a clerk-turned-assassin, a chef, a mutant with superpowers, a soldier, a faun... I could go on, but seriously? Most times in fandom you need to imagine the characters in these situations. This guy leaves nothing to the imagination, he just gives it all to you. No effort required. Wow ( Read more... )

Oh, please do. It's not even selfish on my part, you're in for a treat. I mean, I don't read comic books and I don't normally even like superhero films, but XMFC is a treat. Promise. :D

Haha, I hadn't really thought of it that way. :) I know some of those, but what are all the movies you're referencing, out of curiosity?

LOL. Which ones are you curious about in particular? Otherwise, I'd just be retelling this page. ;)

Haha, well, I'm familiar with Narnia, Penelope, Wanted, X-men, and Becoming Jane. So I suppose the real thing is: would you recommend any of the others off that page?

Atonement is a must, AND The Last King of Scotland. I just saw the latter today and it blew my mind. Everyone's been talking about Forest Whitaker's performance there and it's superb, no question, but James is incredible in it. Absolutely amazing.

Oh, thank you so much for those! ♥

It's funny. I've been aware of him for a long time, most notably remembering him from Atonement and Wanted, and I knew he was also the guy from Narnia -- all this before I watched XMFC. Which I did when it was released. I distinctly remember thinking 'well, that was nice' and sort of shelving it.

...Apparently I have a condition when I need to give a good thing a head start before I jump onboard. :D

Hm. I find Avengers endlessly entertaining with all that eye candy and stuff. But at this point I can't see myself ever reading/writing for them.
