Is anyone watching the new series on SetOne, Rishta.Com? I randomly saw it today after my driving lesson and honestly, I'm blown away. Indian serials are never this good, and I mean never. There's no saas-bahu lafra or emotionally draining love stories between starcrossed lovers who end up marrying other people for revenge but eventually find peace ( Read more... )

I've not heard of any of those soaps. I've only started getting into them in the past few years I think. :)

SetOne as is... SetMax? I'll see if I get the channel, will be nice to watch something decent for a change. There was a show called Astitva which my mum loved which used to be on years ago - I complained about it so much at the time, but in retrospect it was really, really good... Simran, the main female lead, worked as a doctor, led her own life, and though she struggled to take care of her family and her hospital, she never made ridiculous self sacrifices and her life wasn't controlled by the men in her life either.
I MISS HER AND HER EVIL, FEMINIST WAYS. Don't watch Zee Tv, it will make you cry.

I'm not sure how it is in Aus, but here the channels are two separate ones. OMG
ASTITVA!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THAT. Simran was an amazing character and I hated that she was never given a break. :(

Have you seen Kasshish? It's another Zee Tv programme and it's brilliant. It follows Piya's life during and after her husbands affair with her own cousin sister and it's so realistic. I loved and hated watching it because it showed both sides of the affair; Piyra's betrayal and her cousins loneliness (I forget her name).

Zee Tv makes me bawl
