Is anyone watching the new series on SetOne, Rishta.Com? I randomly saw it today after my driving lesson and honestly, I'm blown away. Indian serials are never this good, and I mean never. There's no saas-bahu lafra or emotionally draining love stories between starcrossed lovers who end up marrying other people for revenge but eventually find peace in their new spouse only for said spouse to be murdered in mysterious circumstances causing the starcrossed lovers to end up bitter enemies... blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda. With more of the popular serials the storyline is merely regurgitated over and over and over and over and over, and yes, over again. I told my sister that Kasturi was an exact copy of Kashish and my sister did not believe me until every episode was the same. I almost died from over-exposure to all the rhona-dona...
But Rishta.Com seems to be completely different. It's the story of a match-making service and follows the two founders struggles to find partners for their clients. And obviously, we're waiting for the two to get together, since the drama plays up their differences and as we know, opposites attract. That may be the only downside to the drama, since it's an overly cliched idea but it kind of works.
And omg I sound like I was paid to advertise it but seriously, it's really good. I particulary like who during the end credits we're shown a sneak peek into the clients lives.
And the best thing is that SetOne has a youtube channel where it's all shown in full. Huzzah!
