I hate when they sing The Beatles, because I love the Beatles and it's very hard to impress me when you sing the Beatles.

I was actually REALLY surprised and impressed that they cut Chris. I mean, I'm glad that they did, because he wasn't up to the same speed as some of the others, but usually his kind of backstory is what American Idol would have put through in the Paula years, you know? Like, I liked Danny Gokey's friend's voice A LOT better than I ever liked Danny Gokey, yet Danny went through.

That said, I'm glad that they told him gently. I thought that she did well in telling him.

That should say: Danny went through on the strength of the story of his dead wife, in my opinion.

I really LIKED Chris, but he was very uneven and he shouldn't have made it through, but yeah, I was pretty convinced that he was going to make it in because of his backstory. I'm very glad they didn't do that. I'm sick of the story winning over the talent, that's why I stopped watching 7 years ago, lol. It became about the story rather than the talent and I don't give a shit if you're rich and had everything, i fyou sing better than the dude from the ramshackle trailer park with the comatose mama, YOU deserve to go through, not them.
