Inspiration is a beautiful thing...

Jun 27, 2004 00:48

Okay, the following was inspired by Dead Man. It takes place, I suppose, in William's head as he is swept away by the ocean. It's sort of a lament, I guess. I don't know. If you haven't seen the movie, you might still like it, though the nuances will be lost on you. LOL. Sorry if you don't get it, not that many people have seen Dead Man. ( Read more... )

Heh. 'effin'. Like that.

And thank you very much. I lvoe it as well, as is apparent. LOL. I wanted to write it as soon as I finished watching it the first time a couple of days ago, but I held myself back til' I'd watched it a second time. Wanted to get the ambience right, make sure I'd caught atleast a little more of the nuances.

Hah, and here I thought *I* was the only person to have written Dead Man slash.

This was quite good, dense and evocative with a well-summed-up ending. I look forward to reading more of your fic.

Oh, have you?! Point me in the direction. I've not read anything else about Dead Man.

And thank you!

I would, but apparently adultfanfiction.net has deleted my account. I'll put it up on my site (I don't have the file with me right now) and give you a link when I do that.

dead man fics are a rare commodity. very few and far-apart. this was short, but beautifully written. i've often thought of writing my own dead man fic, but i can't think of what i'd write about. meh. i really like the movie and the character, and i'm glad you've written something about it.

i've read ghostgecko's fic "How the West Was Won." It's fucking brilliant. Read it as soon as you get the chance ^_~

About your Dead Man poetic lament anonymous September 1 2004, 01:00:11 UTC
It was beautiful. Lyrical and contemplative and just so right. I wish I could hear Depp saying these things because then it would be perfect. Magnificent feeling behind the words. And somehow reminds me of Lords of the Ring and Boromir's boat burial. Perhaps because of the delicate poetry that somehow seems Elven to me.

Oh, God, I know. I'd love to send it to Johnny Depp and plead with him to make a vocal track of it. LOL. Who knows, Johnny being Johnny he might be flattered enough to do it.

Dude, now I'm tempted to do that.

Thank you very very much, I'm so glad you liked it. It's one of the pieces I'm most proud of.
