I like tidal estuaries (and your photographs) very much indeed. Stingrays are very wonderful and lovely, but I am tentative about being near them.

When I read your headline, I thought the post was going to be about horse-riding. :)

The stingrays here seem to be generally good natured. Sometime you can drift over them in a kayak even in very shallow water, but most times they'll either scoot off or disappear into the sand. It might be a different story if you were wading though!

The water in the Hacking is always very clear, because the river is comparatively short. The light that morning was amazing too.
