Heartless Fics primarily died with Ryune. That's pretty much the end of it. I'm the only mod left, and all I do is click the "approve" button whenever I get a notif in my email. If I could, I would happily pass off the comm to someone else because I honestly don't give a fuck about the KH fandom anymore. If something happened on HF that may have been even remotely wanky, then I didn't hear anything about it, lmfao. I don't even read the sporks.

No, when I say "if I could", I mean I am actually incapable of transferring ownership. Ryune was the only maintainer; the rest of us can only edit about half the comm's settings. The comm died with her.

I say this as the kind of crazy person who has sat down and transferred ever single entry in a comm from one to another so control could be passed to other people.

Eh, the community pretty much crumbled a long time ago. People moved on and found new things and the ones who are left in fandom seem to have become rather insular and stick to their friends' lists or Plurk or Tumblr. It's kinda sad to see it die, but what can you do? *shrugs*

And while I didn't see the arguement in question, well that's hardly anything new. It's the internet, people will always argue about everything. There have certainly been some doozies here before and I doubt it really has anything to do with the decline.

When it comes to KH fandom, I still love the game, I still love RPing it, I still love fawning over pretty arts, and that's where my involvement ends. I jumped ship on being active in the KH fandom a long time ago because of the rampant batshit and stupid, moved onto other fandoms I love dearly and can be active in with minimal suck. I don't post here because I have nothing to post.

I've been super wary about rant communities on LJ because a lot of them are super-duper PC and will dogpile the fuck out of people for saying things that can be un-PC if you try hard enough. I loved KHFFR because it didn't fall into the PC rant community trap, people could be free to rant instead of having to be nice about it.

idk what's going on with Heartless Fics. I'm just going to assume since it's LJ someone got offended and it blew up. I'm batshit for mocking crap fanfiction but even HF got pretty samey in its snark after a while. There's only so much "LOL SOMEONE MADE A SUE FOR RIKU" I can take before I demand new material.

As others have said, I don't really check out KH fandom anymore no I just get all worked up over sasusaku and ATLA which is still active, whuuut?
I'll talk about it with my friends (in fact I just did an RP with one over text...) But, I guess I was never extremely active anyway, so it was easy to slip out.

Tumblr's pretty active in terms of KH fandom, yeah. It's not exactly the easiest to navigate due to the way tags work, though, and there are no filters at all so it's impossible to avoid running into yaoi porn. =P

There are definitely a few outstanding gems in Tumblr's giant heap of stuff, though -- for example, Ask Blogs are a neat idea (if particularly inclined to demonstrate Fan Dumb tendencies) and there are a few really good ones out there.

The thing about Tumblr fandom is that it's all rather fragmented and questionably-organized -- I don't think I've seen any equivalents to LJ communities, just personal blogs. Tracking/searching hashtags is the only real way I've found to navigate, which is kind of unfortunate given that it's not a particularly convenient way to search.

It's also highly geared towards image reblogging, so a lot of the content seems to come from Pixiv and other Japanese sites that aren't easily accessible to non-Japanese people, or animated gifs made from the games.

As such... I don't really have a single unified link (or even a set of a few links) to give to lead you to the fandom on Tumblr. =/ I guess I'll just leave you links to the #Kingdom Hearts tag, a prolific KH art blog and a few Ask blogs -- Ask Terra, Ask Master Aqua (which has been dead for a while), Ask Riku (though you have to go back a few pages to get to the bulk of the image responses), Ask Xion, and Ask Roxas (there are a few of these, but this one seems to be the best of them).I

Except the Baby Roxas fiasco, which is being dealt with as we speak and better suited for Heartless Fixs.
I could go find something right now, I guess, but that just defeats the purpose, and if I'm looking for something to rant about, I'm going to be jaded towards everything I find anyway.
