So someone on deviantART asks why people think certain pairings are popular.

I'm focusing on the Xemnas/Saïx responses, but others were also pretty bad.

Disclaimer: I don't mind people portraying loyal!Saïx when it is done right. I can see where it comes from. What follows is not doing it right, and yes, I'm probably biased.

This is why I don't even bother with DeviantArt fandom (for ANY series, mind). Most of them are dumb fangirls.

I wouldn't have even seen this discussion had I not been talking to the OP about her policy violations. (Stolen art as lit. thumbnails, stolen icons, screenshots, and blatant porn fic; much of which is still in her gallery. @_@)

But I saw the journal and just had to investigate.

Well, now we know why she had rabid nonsense shippers on her page. They were just there for the porn.

(Seriously, 80% of the rabid fannits I meet? I meet over porn. Not even kidding.)

Pretty much! What's hilarious is that she's had porn removed before. She even reuploaded a porn story and then apparently deleted it herself for reasons unknown. Yet she left other porn stories to sit around...? How does she not know the rules by now. :|

(I can believe it. Teen fans, they thrive on porn since they're in a stage of development with HORMONES EVERYWHERE and things. That's my theory, at least.)

Great post - completely agree. I adore XemSai but I hardly ever see it pulled off right. I mean, these two are intelligent, strong guys who have an agenda of their own. They'll play endless, remorseless mind games with one another. Surely that's more fun to write and play with rather than the copout excuse 'they're hot together' or 'omg saix is a loyal puppy', honestly I don't get it.
