My anti-loyalty, let me show you it.
So someone on deviantART asks why people think certain pairings are popular.
I'm focusing on the Xemnas/Saïx responses, but others were also pretty bad.
Disclaimer: I don't mind people portraying loyal!Saïx when it is done right. I can see where it comes from. What follows is not doing it right, and yes, I'm probably biased.
1.) Saix-Xemnas: Saix is the schizo boy toy- He and Xemnas are the only two schizophrenic members of Org. XIII. Also, Saix seems to be the only Orgy member who bought into the 'Kingdom Hearts' lidea, the others seemd to humor Xemnas out of fear.
OK, I responded to this one asking for clarification on the "schizophrenic" thing; they gave decent reasons: Saïx says "Can you hear their euphoria?" and Xemnas speaks to KH as if it were a person. Nooot explicitly enough to warrant a schizophrenic diagnosis, in my book, but cool idea to play with.
The whole "buying into the Kingdom Hearts idea" also works for Saïx. That's pretty canon! Excuse me, though, but that does not make him a "boy toy". Considering his reason for buying into that idea was to gain a Heart, not sex up Xemnas. He was the one doing the humoring because Xemnas knew of his betrayal. He was using Xemnas but did it carefully and showed him respect. A few other members? Those were the ones who seemed to have bought the idea completely without considering that Xemnas had other plans. Related...
2.) SaixXXemnas is obvious. Saix has a blind conviction that Xemnas can do no wrong and it's one of the only couples without balance that are still lovely.

Woah, woah, woah, back up now. Wasn't Saïx planning to betray Xemnas because he knew that Xemnas was suspicious and not someone to be trusted? He's not a mindless idiot. Y'all need to go back and review 358/2 Days now. Idgaf if you don't have a DS. You are capable of watching a playthrough on YouTube or doing some damn research via the Kingdom Hearts wikia.
3.) XemSai: cause of the cutscene from KH2 (Xemnas: Indeed. Saïx: How I've waited to hear that.) and cause they look so hot together
Ship evidence: Saïx apparently stays in control of himself because Xemnas says so.
New evidence from days Days: It seems that the "Charades" cutscene was more "Can I end this charade of pretending to be loyal to you? OH I AM SO GLAD THAT'S OVER."
This is maybe the only valid point so far, since the scene is open to interpretation. +1
Personally, that scene read more "Now that everyone else is dead, let's see who gets Kingdom Hearts first by killing Sora and co. I'll take the initiative. 8D" And Saïx seems to be well in control of himself without Xemnas' command. He's not as ragey as you think, fandom.
I'm not going to touch on how cringe-worthy the "they look so hot together" reason is. My theories on certain aspects of fandom have been confirmed with that. That is all. -1

HAVE SOMEONE LOYAL LIKE ZEXION ELIMINATED ALONG THE WAY. WITH AXEL DOING HIM THAT FAVOR USING RIKU-REPLICA.
SO THINGS ARE NOT OBVIOUSLY THEIR FAULT.
It's called "Not being an idiot like Marluxia and making stupid moves."
And Xemnas just goes "Oh how amusing", taking it in stride LIKE A BOSS.
