I can't believe I have to reiterate this point...

...I get that you like Namitas (Vanitas and Namine). However, your reasons for finding VaniXi as weird boggle my mind. And this is why.

Slight BBS spoilers. )

Vanitas is, like, the least fluffy character in KH ever! Hell, Master Xehanort is fluffier than Vanitas!

Which is why this makes me TWITCH so much.
I like that he's completely unsympathetic.
There's a serious lack of those types of villains in the FF games I love.
They all have some kind of backstory that makes you pity them, from what I've seen.

Kefka's close, but yeah, he has that whole "used to be a normal dude, then he went insane from unstable experiments" backstory. I kind of find the fact that people are becoming somewhat obsessed with Vanitas worrying... but then, I'm terrified of him.

I think it's because of the whole, "OMG A PERSON WHO'S EVIL WITH NO EXCUSES!" thing he has going for him.
People get kinda tired of always having a sympathetic villain.VARIETY, FTW.

What if Namine has the power to break his mind and change his memories and turn him into her knight?

Xion only has the power of being cute tragic to make men want to help her, and... actually, that worked pretty well for her.

Srsly though. If you want to write about Vani, you're writing him for the delicious sadistic bastard that he is. You want someone to be cute with Nami? You have Sora. You have Riku. You have Roxas. All in their individual ways, at least.

I doubt Namine could change who he is at his core, though.
And that's pure fucking evil.
She can alter memories, not beings.

But yeah.
This came up because someone commented on a friend's VaniXi pairing and how it didn't work because "I always imagine he'd be really sadistic with Xion."
...After they stated they ship VaniNami.
So, either they make Vanitas super fluffy.
Or they turn sweet Namine into a sadistic bitch.

Theoretically though, if you fuck a person's memories, change what they have experienced, you can change who they have 'become'. Admittedly it's kind of hard with him cause he has, yanno... NO light at all inside him, and evil is just his nature, lol. But maybe she could create memories with the illusions those feelings, maybe play with memories of how much he loves himself and how great he thinks he is... lol

Sadistic bitch Namine. Is this a 'verse where Larxene broke her and remade her into her own little sadistic shadow? Or is she randomly a bitch?

Yeah, I don't think there's any making Vanitas fluffy toward anyone but himself.

I dunno, because I'm pretty sure this person like FluffyCuteSweet!Namine. With Vanitas.

Isn't Van something like entirely made of darkness?
Darkness is not fluffy. It is the opposite of fluffy. D:

I'm sorry, my brain is still broken from the mere mention of fluffy + Vanitas. @_@

Fangirls scare me. D:

HELL YES, VANIXION. *spazzes*

I think it was starcrossed_sky who pointed this out, and I agreed with her, that Vanitas/Xion could actually make sense because Van is an arrogant douche. And since Xion's a clone of Sora and therefore also a clone of Vanitas, Van would sort of see her as a female version of himself. And y'know, who would an arrogant douche love more than himself?
I mean, it's obviously the furthest thing from a healthy relationship, but I can see the reasoning. I have a soft spot for it myself.

But Vanitas fluff... LOL. Just LOL.

xD Yeah. It WOULDN'T be healthy.
It'd be very dark and scary.
Which is why I'm baffled by people thinking it's bad he's with Xion but okay when he's with Namine.

Yeah, no. I agree with what you said in your post: he'd be worse with Namine. Xion could fight him off if she needed to. Namine (while she does have her heart shattering ability, we really don't know how that works and what determines who she can and can't use it against) is, from what I can remember, defenseless. That and the poor girl pretty much takes crap from people for a living. >_>

(Also, hai fellow Oklahoman 8D)

Well, some people take the position that if Kairi gets a keyblade, so does Namine, I think. But even if you take that road, Namine is definitely not going to be as experienced with it as, well, anyone. And definitely not as skilled as Vanitas. Since he's, like, Big Bad material? Or the Dragon, at least (as in big bad's number 2, not as in big scaly thingy).
