Corsets will physically fuck you up if you lace them too tight for several years.

Yeah, I'm a pretty skinny girl (Okay, a twig with yarn attached for limbs) but that's just how I am. I don't think Square is actively promoting "MUST BE THIS SKINNY TO BE ATTRACTIVE," if anything they should be smacked upside the head for lack of creativity with their protagonist designs.

I have no idea what I'm going on about.

*shrug* To me it doesn't seem to be wearing it much more than skin-tight. I also don't think she wears it with her armor.

I've heard the "Squeenix has sticks for women" complaint on more than one site. Usually I need to resist beating people over the head with, "THEY ARE IN ASTONISHING PHYSICAL CONDITION DUE TO REGULAR EXERCISE AND A PRESUMABLY HEALTHY DIET, WHICH IS NOT THE SAME THING YOU IDIOTS."

Also, I think it's rather nice of Square to make their "most common body type in female characters" = "most common body type in real females". I mean, it's better than being super-curvy or thinner than rakes and they can still design eye-catching outfits/faces/hairstyles.

Also, people have to realize that Aqua is that funny little thing I like to call "stylized"

It doesn't matter what who she is, or what company draws her, an animated female, an animated person in general, is gonna be stylized, it just looks better that way.

I almost got into an argument with a grown woman who's had a psychological hate for Jasmine since she was a teenager watching Aladdin because she has a "perfect body she would never be able to have" and so she felt her brain society was telling her this unattainable body is what you need to be considered normal. Jasmine's body is a based off a stylized hourglass for fuck's sake, are you kidding me with that? Of course you're not going to have her body. Her eyes also take up 40% of her face. Why are you not making a fuss about that being a statement of the type of eyes you need to have in order to be considered normal in society, too? Because you're not ever going to obtain her eye size either but you're not worried about that. It's always bodies we worry and I don't get why. I can't feel sorry for you and your problems when you're being dumb to begin with, typical teenage puberty problems aside.

I'd say Hope's mom is a bad example, since you generally get boobs after you have kids

I'd also say that's a bad shot of Aqua to use for comparision; the quality makes it hard to see where boob ends and midsection begins, and seems generally to make her smaller then she looks in better quality shots.

It's a three-quarter view. One of her boobs is clearly outlined, which is what I was going for.

Anyway, I intended to go for a wide range of ages and physical conditions. Aerith, for example, is even skinnier without being very active. Also I couldn't find any proper shots of Lulu from the side, or Jihl Nabaat, so Hope's mom was the only other candidate.

... It's not like she just had Hope, though. I'd say by the time the kid's 14 your boobs are back to their average size.

I can't speak for others, but I'm 17 and my mom's haven't returned to their previous (almost flat, apparently) state. So yeah.

THIS. Oh god so much of this I just don't even. I have a similar body as she does (minus aforementioned waist proportions due to clothing), and it's like "Um, I'm pretty sure that body type is pretty damn average, esp for someone who 'works out', kthnx".

Besides which, excluding my own body-type-bias, everyone has different body shapes. Just to reiterate what you've already proven, every woman has a different body, not everyone body is going to behave in the same way as they grow (or have babies or what the heck ever), and keeping an inactive lifestyle will likely lead to being a little doughier. All of the people you've used as examples are active in varying degrees.

So yes, thumbs up. Thank you. This argument needs to die and stay dead. 9_9
