on Larxene and Zexion (or: Emily's second try at ranting about Kingdom Hearts).

Apologies in advance if this one’s been done before, too.

Tru dat and excellent rant!
Just one question: While this may not signify their fighting ability, it should be noted that Zexion has been placed in control of the Castle That Never Was. I...don't understand what you mean by this, are you trying to say that in TWTNW Zexion technically 'outranks' Larxene? The wording is just a little strange to me, sorry.
(srsly, someone tried to roleplay a fight where Larxene picks up Zex's Lexicon? Couldn't he just...summon it back to him like a Keyblade? I don't know, but the idea of one Nobody picking up another's weapon just seems...weird.)

I don't think Zexion is officially in control of anything, but he's the mastermind behind the actions of the members who remain loyal to the Organization (namely Vexen and Lexaeus). Also, of the three of them, his throne is the highest in Nothing's Call, which could possibly indicate level of competence?

Maybe I imagined the Zexion-in-control-of-CTNW, thing. ^^;; Who knows.

Hmm... not 'outranks' per se, but more like Zexion is masterminding major plans while Larxene is carrying them out (in their respective factions, of course).

... Larxene is not stupid, people. She's not going to pick up such a dangerous object (yes, she likes fighting, but liking confrontations doesn't mean that she's going to do stupid stuff), especially with all the stuff that Zexion can do with it.

Seconded on the excellent rant.

I've always considered Larxene to be very intelligent, actually, even though she's definitely crazy. xD

Thank you. [:

I approve of this rant. I hate it when people assume 'taking their weapon' is sufficient in the case of Nobodies, because... all of them materialize their weapons, as far as I'm aware. Thus, taking Demyx's sitar or Zexion's lexicon wouldn't be like, say, taking a sword from a swordsman. They'd just... reach through darkness portals and grab it, probably. Possibly get into a tug-of-war, but yes. XDDD

One thing:

it should be noted that Zexion has been placed in control of the Castle That Never Was

Wait, really? Did I miss this somehow? ;;

'Control' may have been too strong a word, but he's definintely the mastermind behind the actions of the members of OrgXIII who remain loyal. That was probably poor phrasing on my part; I meant to indicate that while Zexion is the mastermind behind his faction's actions (whoa, rhyming death), Larxene is merely carrying out orders in hers.

Hopefully that makes more sense ^^;;

You maybe mean in control of Castle Oblivion's basement group?

Castle That Never Was, isn't it? I thought that Marluxia was in control of Castle Oblivion, and the Zexion/Vexen/Lexaeus team operated from CTNW.

Egads! I'm playing with the idea of how it would be possible to depower Nobodies via taking away their weapons for a fic idea and it involves a lot of Magical Science (TM) and force-fields and somehow explaining why the Nobody in question can't just snap their fingers and re-materialise it. Or make the weapon in question just fly across the room to them. Or anything like that, since by all appearances their weapons are intrinsically linked to them and under their mental control. So, yeah, just picking it up is kiiind of unlikely to have the effect that person wants >...although now I'm trying to figure out what effect touching/picking up a Nobody's weapon would /have/ and wondering if it's taboo, kind of like touching someone's Daemon in HDM since you could think of the weapons as tied directly to their soul and BACK BUNNIES BAAAACK ( ... )

*glomps back* And I knoow daemons would be so cool. ;_; But I actually really like this idea, that grabbing a Nobody's weapon would be, next to very, very stupid, somehow taboo and eeh.

...but I already HAVE an epic fic in the works! D: I can't focus on more than one at a time! Although I might be able to fit this in there somewhere, since the fic basically consists of all the cool ideas I love playing around with but tend to think of as unwriteable due to being too strange.

I APPROVE OF THIS EPIC IDEA AND SECOND THE MOTION FOR EPIC FIC. o/

Numbers have nothing to do with rank. The only one who believes that is Vexen, because it should mean he has seniority. Let's all remember here that no one listens to Vexen. Or respect him. (Vexen has no authority.)

Example: Saïx (VII) is said in Jiminy's journal to be Xemnas's second in command. Marluxia was placed in control of Castle Oblivion despite being XI. Vexen (IV) has no authority over his peers in CoM. Like, at all. Zexion practically bosses him around. ... Actually overall in CoM Zexion is kind of a bitch to Vexen, too.

The whole number thing just means you died first. (Totally something one should be proud of. "I LOST MY HEART YEARS BEFORE YOU!! *shakefist*") Also, finally, Vexen is totally the old man who wants those damn kids to get off his lawn. ):

Or got scouted by the Organization first. *had a ficbunny lying around where the Organization found someone who'd been a Nobody since before some of them were BORN and weren't sure what to do*
