A recent trip to Youtube does weird things to me. Specifically, trips to KH AMV sections do weird things to me. Let's see, here are my thoughts ( Read more... )

For one weird, weird second, I thought the music was Girltalk.
But holy crap, that was good.

I think the one thing about people using Movie Maker is that other programs could be expensive, unless pirated, but you have a point, really. Using the same old songs is definitely irksome, too...you'd think people would have more ideas, since there's so many types of music out there.

Not to mention that they're very resource-intensive. Premiere KILLS my computer when I try to run it.

Yeah, I imagine so. Movie Maker may not be the greatest, but I'm sure it can be used well enough if people know what they're doing.

Yeah, and it's not like it's completely devoid of special effects. You can do plenty of stuff with it.

That's an excellent movie. :o

The problem is that people think that an AMV is simply setting some video to music. It's much more than that. They have no idea how much an edited video, which is set to be in sync with the music stands out against one that is just cutscenes with some music added in the background. I mean, yeah, the Axel's Hips Don't Lie is a dead horse now, but it was a great AMV since it was so well edited.

It's the main reason I don't watch amvs unless they're recommended to me or by someone I know is a good amv maker.

Even Disney songs can be properly done.

YES! I would love to see a decent AMV done to a Hunchback of Notre Dame song since I totally just got done watching it xDD.

It's not just Kingdom Hearts, I think all series suffer from this, at least all the ones I like. That's why my preference for KH videos are almost always those collages of random funny stuff that give me a great kick. I love my stuff to be upbeat & rarely angsty, like the video above, especially music from the 80s & 90s, heck even the hip hop/rap thing during those decades were at least decent in addition to they already great pop, rock, & dance.

Also, if you guys like that video, you should see the rest of her work. My personal favorite of her vids would have to be "Kingdom Hearts does DBZ."
