I really shouldn't have to say this...

When writing crossovers, be sure your canons mesh well. Specifically, be sure that crossing worlds would be allowed, Heartless would be believable--that sort of thing. Really, I'm all for crossovers, and I like it when somebody manages to take two fandoms that don't look like they'd mesh together too well (take some CSI crossovers, for instance, ( Read more... )

Honestly? I see a Numb3rs/Bones crossovers happening easily then a Kingdom Hearts.

...but part of me is considering X-Files/Kingdom Hearts, for some odd reason...

Definitely.

Too bad I know shit-all about X-Files or I would be happy to write it up.

I've crossed KH and House before. :X

And to be honest, I can see a few possibilities where KH and Bones would work. xDDD The problem is a lot of fan authors don't put in the thought and effort it would take to make obscure crossovers like that work.

Eh, granted, Kingdom Hearts itself messes with the canon of Disney movies. It really depends if the author can make it mesh well. You can always just have the characters be in a Kingdom Hearts AU.

Take CSI for example. Normal canon, of course, doesn't involve Heartless and Nobodies and what have you. But this is where the author can get creative. Grissom could be investigating a Nobody-related attack on a town to find out if it's individual work or an "organized crime group". Catherine could be dealing with the darkness taking hold of her daughter's heart because of her mother's absence and her father's... well, Eddie-ness.

I'm probably giving bad examples cuz my brain is fried, but the point is that it can work. It might take a little tweaking and a lot of dedication, but it can work.

Besides, admitting not everything can work would be admitting that Artax isn't the lost member of the Organization. He didn't die, he just got sucked into the darkness. NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE D:

There's not many ways you can justify Disney/Final Fantasy, but darn if they haven't done it anyways. :/

DRUGS. It is a well documented fact that Nomura and the rest of the KH development team are fueled by 100% pure CRACK.

But then again, most fanfic authors that take those crazy crossover ideas and make them work probably are too.

KHFFR: What did Demyx mean when he said, "We do too have hearts!"? Was it a feint? A jest? Was he telling the truth? Was there some hidden allusion to the Nobodies' state of being? Does it mean they can still feel emotion? Perhaps Demyx was speaking about their physical hearts, or do they not have those, either? Was he-?
Nomura: Dude. I just thought it sounded cool. :(
