So I go in on fanfiction.net. Find a title that sounds remotely interesting. Read the introduction of the first chapter, and think 'My, perhaps I have found someone who actually stayed awake in school! :D', and read on.

My beta reader steered me clear of inserting stuff to explain. I usually just have them at the end to say some stuff, but never very long. One story I never has A/Ns... I only use 'em in the beginning for warnings/going "just so you know..."

Mid-Story A/Ns makes Naminé's crayon's break. Please, think of the crayons!

Guide reference for the win!

Author notes in the middle of a story can only be used by well-known, well-written, and decidedly amusing authors.
