Yeaah. For all that I love Square, they really bring the angst. XD Sora isn't even quite the kind of dork that Tidus or Bartz or Zidane is. It doesn't mean he's without seriousness! It's just that Disney!pathos is different from Square!pathos, and it's the fact that they're two great tastes that go great together that makes Kingdom Hearts so great.

And, I mean, this is coming from someone whose very first reaction to news of KH was "No! Squaresoft has sold its soul! D:" XDXD

Well, I mean, in a hypothetical world where Nomura didn't have to give up the copyrights to Disney and got to keep all his KH brainbabies (except then he wouldn't have thought of them because it was him turning to a Disney executive(?) and saying "Hey why aren't we working together?" that got KH started 8D). XD

But yeah. Thematically the game is more than half Disney. Take away Disney, and the game limps painfully.
