So you have more fandoms than just Kingdom Hearts. That's quite understandable. I don't know a single person who follows Kingdom Hearts and nothing else. Multiple fandoms broaden your horizons and make you look differently at things. Really, they're a good thing.

Well, you have to give the fics you linked that at least they stayed in Squeenix properties. But yes. Seriously, people. Leon and Cloud don't get Keyblades. Tidus gets what looks like a pipe. Just because your person is the main character/an important character of their respective game or series doesn't mean they'll weild a keyblade in KHverse.

I couldn't get past the clunky POV change, the ripping off of the beginning of KH, or the whole "Keyblade ... of DARKNESS!" bit. It hurts my brain and makes me wish that there were better CC fans.

It's just these horrible ones that give the rest of us a bad name.

*Headdesk* I'll admit to wanting to write some pretty out-there crossovers from time to time, but I haven't been shoving keyblades on characters since I was... oh, fourteen or so.

Believe it or not, I think High School AUs have potential too, as long as they're used correctly. It's just that those two types of fiction (HSAU and crossover) have been so badly abused, nobody likes 'em anymore.

(I have some serious plotbunnies for a CC/KHII crossover, but they've been tainted by this piece of idiocy made fic. As soon as I clean 'em off and plan 'em out, you'll see that crossover posted on the pit.)

Well, I've been having lots of ideas about a Kingdom Hearts/Buffy crossover, and one of them was Buffy getting to use Dawn as a Keyblade. Is that totally bad?

As long as you don't Sueify Buffy, I'd say it's perfectly acceptable. (If you Sueify anybody, however, we may have to shoot you. ^^)
