I watched Argo. It was quite solid. My embarrassing admission is that, before going in, I hadn't put 2 and 2 together to figure out which current event it's about. But it became clear about 3 minutes into the movie

Random, but since you always write about movies: You know what movie I recently saw and liked quite well? Everything is Illuminated. Which I admit I have not read, although I had amply heard of.

For another Ben Affleck directed movie, I would recommend Gone Baby Gone. I remember when I watched it, I was happily surprised to see that it was a good movie and that Ben Affleck was making something of himself (other than just being Matt Damon's best friend, Mr. Jennifer Lopez, and the star of a number of bad movies, including Reindeer Games).

btw, fun fact about Ben Affleck: If you ever watched The Voyage of the Mimi back in elementary school, he played the main character
